Current Position: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Berea College (Berea, KY)

ONLINE LEARNING SPECIALIST/GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT - AUBURN UNIVERSITY ALABAMA SNAP-ED

Lead graduate student for Alabama SNAP-Ed’s school wellness initiative called Quest for Healthy Schools (including IRB submission, protocol development, establish and maintain partnership with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, and data organizing), coordinator of recipe tastings for community use and hand model for recipe video production.

AUBURN UNIVERSITY DIVERSITY CAMPUS EXPERIENCE (DICE) CHAIR

Coordinated a 3-day recruitment program of minority graduate students to tour and consider Auburn University for their graduate and professional studies. The program consisted of sessions to support strong graduate application (CV, personal statement, interview and GRE workshops) and advising/supporting students in completing graduate application and locating graduate assistantships.

EFNEP RESEARCH/PROJECT ASSISTANT - TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY’S COOPERATIVE EXTENSION PROGRAM

Extension assistant for Dr. Eunice Bonsi in Tuskegee University’s Cooperative Extension EFNEP Program with duties including laboratory and food laboratory experiments, recipe tasting, for community use, supporting community projects and data organization.

COUNSELOR (2014), LEAD COUNSELOR (2016), AND ASSISTANT COORDINATOR (2016) - FOOD AND NUTRITION SUMMER YOUTH COLLEGE (F.A.N.S.Y.C)

Taught middle school students the different food and nutritional science concepts through hands-on and interactive methods, including food safety, the USDA’s My Plate and the importance of health and wellness.

Collaborated on curriculum and exam development, taught class sessions (hybrid format) and graded assignments and exams. Courses included lifestyle nutrition and medical nutrition therapy I and II.

TRAINER FOR QUEST FOR HEALTHY SCHOOLS INITIATIVE (ALABAMA SNAP-ED AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY)

Coordinated and conducted trainings for SNAP-Ed educators to implement SNAP-Ed’s school wellness initiative, Quest for Healthy Schools, throughout the state of Alabama.
